TITLE: Human Resources- Payroll Specialist
REPORTS TO: Sr. Vice President – Director of Human Resources
HOURS: 8:00am – 5:00 pm. Monday through Friday and other hours as needed.
CLASSIFICATION: Full time, non-exempt
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform all job functions related to bank’s semi-monthly payroll for two states
- Answer employee questions in regards to payroll
- Educate new employees on payroll process during monthly benefits orientation
- Distribute time card reports to supervisors via email; make corrections as necessary
- Assist supervisors with time and attendance software
- Prepare special reports as requested by the President and Sr. Vice Presidents
- Maintain and track incoming garnishments
- Produce and track monthly performance appraisals
- Responsible for monthly raise worksheet preparation, distribution and follow-up
- Update and track attendance records
- Submit monthly Bureau of Labor Statistics Report on Employment, Payroll, and Hours to the Department of Labor
- Generate quarterly FTE report
- Balance payroll general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Cross train and act as back up for Benefits Specialist
- Assist in answering employee’s questions in regards to benefits
- Produce a terminated employee report every pay period
- Assist with company events as requested
- Educate self and remain up to date on changes as they relate to payroll for Kansas and Colorado
- Conduct all actions consistent with quality customer service, friendliness and the overall mission of the bank.
- Achieve and maintain general knowledge of all aspects of the bank and our services in order to cross sell products and answer customer questions.
- Conduct all interactions with internal and external customers in accordance with The CoreFirst Way
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE:
- One year payroll processing experience required; two –three years strongly preferred.
- Past experience in Human Resources preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft products and Excel required.
- Past accounting experience and/or accounting classes helpful. Prefer candidate who has experience working with ADP payroll system.
